I can’t believe it is already April! I had this outfit post in draft and thought back in March, I need to work on that one outfit post and all of a sudden March is over. We transitioned from one season to another, officially, and I am surprised I haven’t gotten through posting all the outfits in my queue with my long hair. I may just start posting outfit photos that were taken recently because the items are still available in stores, but we’ll see!
This blue and purple monochrome outfit is one I wore two years ago to a fashion event in the city. I’ve worn most of these items on the blog before, so this outfit is a bit of a remix with the newer items in this post being the shoes and jewelry.
I scored the patent blue Kate Spade wedges from The Real Real and with an extra 20% off sitewide coupon. I bought these not only because of their color, but because I had believed that wedges are a comfortable way of adding height than typical heels. Thes were almost brand new, so I did not expect they needed to be worn in so much and I did not enjoy wearing the first time. I’ve quickly learned to like them, but going to an event without a change of shoes was a mistake!
The necklace and ring are pieces I purchased from a local jewelry pop-up shop called Waffles & Honey. I fell in love with the necklace at a blogger brunch hosted in a beauty shop and picked up the ring a few months after that at another event. The ring was a staple for a few seasons, and even though some color is wearing off, I still reach for it as a finishing touch to an all gold arm party. These pieces are all unavailable in store, but I’ve linked similar items to shop below.
I announced back in February on Instagram that I am engaged, but have actually been engaged since last April. (Today’s predates the proposal.) The proposal kind of caught me by surprise, and deserves its own blog post, but even though I had been dating Armando for almost 10 years I wanted to proceed with caution in announcing our engagement to the world. I wasn’t ready to answer all the questions that come with planning a wedding. And now, Armando and I are both in the process of planning a wedding and searching for the right venue. Most people want to know the date when you announce you are engaged and while we have a date in mind, it will really come down to when the venue we like is available.
Now that we are planning a wedding, I’ve also been posting new items on Poshmark because weddings are not cheap! I’ve always heard stories and seen figures on what the average wedding costs, but now it feels too real. I’ll be posting a lot more items for sale since I’ll be doing some more spring cleaning, so make sure to download the app and use my code HAEWR for $5 shopping credit.
My goal is to not go too long without posting while I work on earning some extra cash and plan a wedding, but thanks for sticking around and for your support!
